Meeting
Minutes August 6, 2011
Members Present:
Peter Pescatore, Agnes McCann, Sally Sisson, Kevin McCarthy, Gail
Collins, Mary Lou Clark, John Chapman, Margy Charles
Democratic candidate:
Steve May of Hull, a member of the Hull Democratic Town Comm., as well as
many other civic and professional organizations, spoke about his candidacy for
the State Senate. He is gearing up
to run against Sen. Bob Hedlund in the next election.
He remarked in his talk that he planned to make an issue of health care
reform.
Treasurer's report:
Peter reported the following:

Total

The yard sale profit was
$1,000+
Profit from 2010 fund
raiser was $3,000.
Ninety-five people
attended.
2011 Fund Raiser:
Sally and Kevin have offered to be co-chairs of this year's fund raiser
which will be held on October 1.
Helene Leib has graciously agreed to host the fund raiser again this year.
Committee members for fund
raiser are: Agnes, Peter, John, Mary Lou
The committee will meet
August 9th at 7:00P at Kevin's home.
The committee will be able
to utilize computer software provided by the state party to screen for
particular needs which could include using it to select names for invitation to
the fund raiser.
CDTC Membership:
Agnes, as membership chairperson, will be developing the list of
candidates for the CDTC for the next election.
She will be contacting current committee members as to their intention to
be on the ballot for the Committee. Signatures will be needed for all those
wishing to be on the slate for election to the Cohasset Democratic Town
Committee.
Future forum:
A forum on healthcare has been proposed for January 2012.
One proposed topic is how
healthcare costs will impact state and federal budgets and society.
John Chapman has volunteered to participate in a healthcare forum.
Sally will look into a
second panelist for this forum.
Movie Night:
Movies have been scheduled at the Paul Pratt Library for Sept. 16, Oct.
21, Nov. 18 and Dec 16. All
movies are shown at 7:00P.
Four people will be needed
for each two hour shifts. 9 to 11 and 11 to 1:00.

volunteer for two hour shifts:
