Meeting Minutes, September 10, 2011

 

Members Present:  Agnes McCann, Susan Kent, Margy Charles, Pat Laugelle,  John Chapman, Sally Sisson, Ned Tebbetts, Chartis Tebbetts, Donna McGee, Ginny Najmi, Peter Pescatore, Gail Collins, Kevin McCarthy, Judith Chute, Mary Lou Clark

Treasurer's report:  Currently in the Scholarship fund:  $4505.00

                                   Currently in the General Fund:         1853.00

Discussion followed on the income and expenses from last year's fund raiser. 

Peter reported that $5680. was made from the 2010 party and $2700.00 was needed to cover expenses. 

 

Unity Party: Chairs of the fund raiser reported that all major items for the party are have been taken care of. 

 Donna McGee remarked that silent auction items are slow in coming this year.  If you can help to solicit an auction item, or if you should be willing to donate an auction item please call Donna at 781-383-9114. 

John Chapman and Gail Collins will solicit auction items from two specific Cohasset businesses.

John Walsh, Massachusetts State Party Chairman, has accepted our invitation to the Unity party, as well as Cong. Garrett Bradley.  Steve May, a Hull resident who is running as a Democrat against Sen. Bob Hedlund has also accepted.

Peter Pescatore volunteered to man the work table at the fund raiser.

Volunteers are needed to help with clean up after the party and to make runs to the recycle center Sunday. 

 

Movie Night:  The next feature for our Friday night movie on Sept. 16th at 7:00 P at the library is the 1941 film,  Citizen Kane, with Orson Welles acting and directing. 

Reminder:  The Scituate Democratic Town Committee will hold a Senate candidate breakfast on Sunday Set.18 at the Scituate Country Club from 9:30 to 12:30.  Tickets are $25.00 each.  Please order tickets by Sept. 6.  Send check to SDTC, c/o Chris Matthews, 10 Summit Ave., Scituate, Ma.

 

Next Unity Party Meeting:  Sept. 22nd at 7:00P at Helene Lieb's home.

Next CDTC Meeting:  Trying 2 weekday nights to accommodate folks.
