Meeting minutes, November 5, 2011
Members Present: Sally Sisson, Ned Tebbetts, Judith Chute, Agnes McCann, Kevin
McCarthy, Gail Collins, Virginia Najmi, Chartis Tebbetts, Theresa Polhemus, John
Chapman, Margy Charles, Peter Pescatore
Treasurers Report: Peter reports that the net proceeds for the Unity Party
Fundraiser were $1,890.08.
The co-chairs for the 2012 Unity Party will be Kevin McCarthy and Sally Sisson.
Possible dates for the 2012 Unity Party are Sept 29 or October 13.
Membership: Agnes reported that the Committee has gained four new members: Deb
Cook, Diane Kennedy, Howie Altholtz and Rich Fitzpatrick.
Thanks to Agnes for her efforts as Membership Chair!!!
Health Care Forum/Book talk: A forum on healthcare is in the works, chaired by
John Chapman. Focus will be on writer Stu Altman who's written a book titled,
"Power Politics and Universal Healthcare." No firm date has been set as yet.
Community Outreach: There was discussion of getting more involvement from the
community by having a table at a community function; possibly on Cohasset Day.
Food Pantry Drive: The next food drive for the Cohasset Food Pantry will be
held on
Sat. Dec. 17 from 9 to 1:00 at the Stop and Shop. If you can help for even

Occupy Boston: Judith began a discussion of the Occupy movement and suggested
doing something positive, such as making a donation, on behalf of the group
demonstrating in Boston.
Thought was to give donations of food or money as individuals, not from the
CDTC.
A sub-committee was formed including Agnes, John, Peter, Chartis and Kevin to
draft a statement supporting Occupy Boston.
Kevin will send the final draft to all CDTC members to get they're o k before
issuing a statement. Members will be given a deadline to respond.
All members will be notified of the intent to caravan to the location of Occupy
Boston either driving to Dewey Square, Boston or taking the T there. Folks
should meet at 12 Noon in the lower library parking lot to caravan to Boston
from there. We are all meeting at Dewey Square at 1pm. Please feel free to
invite and bring family members and friends.
The next meeting of the CDTC will be on
January 7 at 9:00A. at the Paul Pratt Library, in the meeting room.
The 2012 local caucus to elect delegates to the State Convention will be held on
Sat., February 18 at 9:00A at the library.
