COHASSET DEMOCRATIC TOWN COMMITTEE VOICES SUPPORT FOR THE OCCUPY BOSTON MOVEMENT      

The Cohasset Democratic Town Committee has voted to voice its support of the Occupy Boston Movement.  In doing so the committee:

1.     Voices appreciation and respect for Occupy Boston’s peaceful demonstration and exercise of our precious First Amendment rights to free speech and assembly.

2.     Agrees that growing inequality in the United States is rooted in a corrupted political process that is corroding our democracy, reducing fairness and opportunity in the economy and tarnishing the American Dream.

We find it unfair that large corporations and exceedingly wealthy individuals are allowed to avoid paying their fair share of taxes while the vast majority of Americans are asked to endure cutbacks in traditional governmental services and social safety net programs.
